By “this”, I mean, writing a blog. So.. Why?
My husband is the famous “Daddy Blogger” and I am his wife. Some would think I should have a blog too. My husband has been encouraging me to have one for quite some time. Although I’ve done one guest blog post on his blog, I never really thought of blogging regularly for myself. Ironically, before Ricky created his blog, I was the one who wanted one for a long time. I bought a domain name back in 2011. I was pregnant with our daughter Rianne at that time and was so hopeful about blogging. However, I kept waiting for the perfect time, the perfect strategy, the perfect plan, etc, and it never came until everything just turned into fear and what ifs. There it was.. no blog, nothing ever happened.
Last Friday morning, I was woken up early by my lil one Ryan and after I finished some mommy duties, I headed to the computer.. (yes! that’s free time baby! Yeah!) and did some research on things I wanted to do and I was so pumped! So excited! And then I thought.. shoot! I only have about 6 or 7 months before my maternity leave is over.. yikes! What to do, what to do.. Once I go back to work, I literally won’t have any time to do any of these things.
So that’s why I’m writing. I want to document these things, I need accountability. Other than my husband (of course), I was inspired by the movie Julie and Julia that I just recently watched while tending to my kids. She wanted a life, some energy and more. I really just want to make the most out of the time I have. And I personally believe that it is very mportant for our children to see that their parents are living what they’re passionate about. Rianne and Ryan – this is for you.. I want you to see how mom lived her life while I took care of you both and I want you to know that you two inspire me to be the best person I can be.. I hope you can get something out of this.. if you are able to live an authentically happy life, perhaps I’ve done my job. I love you both so much!
So to everyone.. welcome to my current journey.. a mom’s journey while on maternity leave. It’ll be fun! A roller coaster type of fun!
What did you do while you were on maternity leave? Any “Aha” moments? Any life changing decisions you made?
I would love to hear your journey as well.
