HAPPY Thanksgiving! Today is Thanksgiving in Canada! And I am so happy that I’ve completed this table just in time for Thanksgiving! May we be reminded of little and great joys and blessings of today and everyday!
Here’s the dining table makeover reveal (just more photos :-p) of our new table.. or shall I say newly painted table! 🙂 I love this table! This is our first dining table. When Ricky and I got married, his Mom gave it to us and this is one of the few pieces we took with us in our home, together with the patio bench and the TV stand, all of which I’ve given a new look.
If you want to know how I painted it, you can see a full post HERE.
I painted the table using Annie Sloan’s Decorative Paint, Chalk Paint ® in Paris Grey with a wash/dragged effect, stencils, and decorative hand painting in Old White and finished with Annie Sloan’s Soft Wax, Clear.
I don’t have to say much.. I’m sure the pictures will say more..
And Here It is Now..
And of course, here’s my daughter eating peanuts on this beautiful table! She’s such a joy to watch enjoying eating on our new table.
Here you’ll see my first attempt on decorative hand painting.. ok.. don’t judge.. practice makes perfect right?! 😉
One of the reasons I just could not give this one up is because it’s a drop leaf table! It shrinks to 1/4 of its size!! Giving me more space in our home so I can paint more!!
Up Close and Personal
I decided to add stencilled words and phrases and the bordered look by accident.. you’ll know why here. It just happened as I was painting it.. and I love it!!
I added some freshly cut dahlias as a centerpiece on a boat tray!
Here’s the instagram photo!
I hope you enjoyed this dining table make over as much as I did!! To our friends, if you happen to come over, take a look and have a bite with us! Have you done a big painting project? I would like to see your work as well as know about your tips and tricks!! Pls. comment away!
To all, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Have a wonderful time with friends and family!
