These huge Christmas trees welcome you and Rianne loved it!

I had the chance to check out the Circle Craft Market Vancouver 2014 last Friday.  A crafter myself and in a journey of discovering my inner artist, these are the events I wouldn’t want to miss. There are more than 300 Artisans participated from Coast to Coast.  As I was photographing their products, I would ask them where they are from and they are from all over Canada, Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and of course, BC – Salmon Arm, Salt Spring Island, Gabriola Island, Maple Ridge, Coquitlam,  and so on.  There’s a huge variety of things to see from all sorts of arts and crafts like glass, clay, ceramics, metal, leather, jewelry, fibre, wood and more.  For sure, you will find one that you are looking for.

I was mesmerized, in awe, with so much curiosity how each one of them is made.  These are all hand-made creations as if they are made with you in their thoughts, actually.. it is. As I walk and look at their works, I pay respect, admiration for the work of their hands.

I have a plea.. please.. if you’re looking into buying gifts.. please consider these Artisans and appreciate their work. Support them. Instead of getting a gift from a big box store why not go small.. buy direct from a maker from your community.  You will agree with me that what they make is truly beautiful. So, consider.. Let’s start a movement where we buy from our neighbours, from our community and let’s see how not just you but everyone else thrive and flourish.  Let’s make this world a better place one way or another.

Here are a few photos I’ve taken.  It will be good to see it for yourself.  If you haven’t gone yet, you still have 1 day to do your Christmas shopping.  So go on visit them, say hello, admire their works and better yet buy it for you and a loved one.
