Upholstery for Beginners – The French Bench

Hooray! I actually completed my first upholstery project and I want more!! Seriously! It wasn’t easy.. but it sure is rewarding! I decided to strip it off completely that’s why it’s a bit more difficult than just wrapping new fabric to it.  By doing this, I feel that it is cleaner and I know that the inside is all new and not just covered up.  You can see all the not so glamorous job of stripping old upholstery here.  Upholstery for Beginners This one is simple and straightforward Read more […]

I wanted to write this post to let you know what you can do with a tester pot (sample pot) of Annie Sloan’s decorative paint, Chalk Paint®. Project #6 – From Dull and Lifeless to Bold and Beautiful, The Red Table

After I did the Annie Sloan beginner painting workshop, I immediately did my first project which was the Red Mantel Clock.  I knew after I’ve done it, I have to do this table to match it.  I finally had the time and additional idea to make it happen.  Other than painting it, I decided to use some stencils and this is my first time doing it! I call this piece my “learning piece”.  I disregard my fears, went with my gut and just learned so much.  In the end, this piece has become really special Read more […]

I met Verna Rayco Segui at the Vancouver Health and Wellness Show last spring.  Her daughter Janelle was at the gymnastics play area with Rianne.  With her friendly nature, she approached me and complimented my daughter being very independent and mature.  And from there, we became Facebook friends.  Little did I know that she is a talented crafter! An artist by heart!  I would see her works that she posts and I was amazed by its beauty and intricacy. In this blog, I would like to feature Read more […]
